The scale of China's cable industry can be seen from the total consumption of conductors and the total annual sales value of the industry. 

In 2022, the total consumption of copper conductors in the cable industry will be 7.54 million tons, including 3.5 million tons of recycled copper rods, accounting for more than 60% of the country's annual refined copper production and about 1/3 of the world's annual total consumption of copper conductors. 

In 2022, the total consumption of aluminum conductors in the cable industry will be 2.2 million tons. According to statistics, there are at least 7,000 wire and cable enterprises in the country, with a total annual sales value of 1.64 trillion yuan, and the total output value of the wire and cable industry ranks second in the machinery industry. 

Wires and cables have the functions of conveying electric energy, generating magnetic field, transmitting information, transmitting data and images, and realizing monitoring. Therefore, in our national economy, the wire and cable industry is the largest and essential "functional material" supporting industry. 

At present, from the overall technical level of the industry, in the upper level; A considerable number of technologies are at the international advanced level, but only a minority are at the international leading level. 

Compared with foreign countries, China's wire and cable products have many varieties and can basically meet the needs of national economic development.
